Building the Best Team
I often hear the phrase, “Teamwork makes the dream work!”
The more I let those words sink in a little bit, the more I start to believe in the truth of this saying, especially with the team that I’ve been lucky enough to work with at Gibbons Business Solutions.
While the focus of GBS is helping business-to-business companies better leverage the Internet to grow their own businesses, the truth of the matter is we couldn’t serve our customers without a happy and positive team of our own! I wanted to share some insights about how our team works to create this atmosphere so that you can use or adapt some of them to influence your own team.
It’s widely known that there are three c’s of teamwork. At GBS, we focus on each one of these c’s to make our team the best it can possibly be.
We value open and honest communication pathways for our team and encourage each other to speak freely with fresh ideas and concepts that will not only impact our clients but will help individual team members grow in their careers with GBS.
No idea is too big or too small and I welcome all employees to have a seat at the table when discussing new ideas that benefit our customers, our company or us as creative professionals.
We work together to make the best possible website design/hosting, marketing, digital signage, social media content, and so much more to help our clients succeed in the marketplace.
Our team organizes several employee events each year as a way to engage and recharge in a non-work setting and increase our collaboration outside of the office. By participating in these events, we get to know one another on a personal level and gain a better understanding on what fuels each other. Not to mention that we just have fun having fun.
I also encourage in-house parties to celebrate holidays and accomplishments.
We value the community that surrounds us and our internal GBS community to engage in thoughtful conversation to push our thoughts and actions forward.
I strongly encourage employees to be active in organizations that support the growth and vitalization of Venango County & beyond. By giving back to organizations in our community we create a sense of pride and accomplishment among the local work that our employees churn out on a daily basis. They are able to make the connections between their contributions and our community and in turn have a stronger desire to keep pushing forward with their professional contributions.
Amy Poehler said, “Find a group of people who challenge and inspire you, spend a lot of time with them, and it will change your life.” Thankfully, I’ve found those people at GBS.
