The Social Media “End Goal”
Your objective with social media marketing is to motivate your audience to do something more.
Keep in mind that social media is simply a quick commercial and needs to include a “call to
action.” That action may be to visit your website, call for information, visit your location,
download a coupon, or email to learn more. Marketing doesn’t begin and end with a social
media post. To maximize results, it needs to be part of a plan that leads to an end goal.
When viewers follow up on that action, you need to be ready to meet their expectations. If you
are encouraging them to visit your website, your website needs to contain more information
about the topic in your social media post. If it’s a phone call or a visit to your location, your
staff needs to be ready to answer questions and provide appropriate assistance. If they email,
someone needs to respond within 24 hours. Once you have a person interested, you need to
keep them interested. If you don’t, no amount of social media will succeed – and may even
work against you.
The key is to build relationships and they are built on positive experiences. As you market,
consider what will happen when a person follows up. What are the steps you need to take to
ensure that they will have a positive experience? Keep them interested and connected.
