Give Yourself A Gratitude Boost

Studies show that practicing gratitude changes how your brain functions. It even lowers depression levels for those who suffer from chronic depression. But it does take practice; it’s especially difficult to be thankful when things get overwhelming and times are stressful. When things are going wrong is when we most need a gratitude boost.

Making a gratitude jar can help. Include the family. Write thankful notes on slips of paper and put them in the jar. When times are tough and it’s hard to be thankful, pull the notes out and read them.

Gratitude thinking is a skill. You may practice it a while, then forget.  That’s ok; you can start again today. Get out that jar and start writing. It really does make a difference, not just for you but for everyone around you. This moment, I am thankful for you!
